So far, Remedy has said nothing about it other than the current platforms AW2 will be releasing on. One would hope that after Remedy got the funding they needed to make AW2 from Epic that they stipulated in their contract with Epic () that other than AW2 releasing on consoles as well as EGS that other platforms like Steam would be allowed after a year or so. It's hard to say at this point as Epic Games is the publisher. Originally posted by Lollipopwaraxe:I don't think it will come to steam, Epic is funding it and they are the publisher so we will have to wait and see. Sorry if you no longer wanted to discuss if others are upsetting you. Oh, I didnt see that you already marked this thread as answered. Everyone has their choice on what they want to do. We will finally get to play it and im happy for that! Im not trying to start a war with why this or that platform is better. What company would pass that up?Īt the end of the day I dont care what platform AW2 is landing on. Not having to use any of their money and get potential sales money up front. Thats why they are losing so much now with all the deals they are signing, but its a win win for any studio that signs with Epic. Epic is funding costs of development, marketing and even give the developers potential sales money up front. Companies care about profit sure and thats why most are signing these deals with Epic. Now Epic has given them the freedom to bring us the game they want and I am glad we will now have the chance to play it. No one wanted to fund it so I thought a sequel would never happen. I was probably following the game since 2005 when my friend brought it to my attention or it was possibly sooner when they had that small reveal of AW before it was entirely redone.īut after MSFT said no to a sequel and AW2 was not picked up either by any other publisher it sucked. Im not trying to start an Epic bandwagon war here either when I say this, but I loved AW. So there is a solid fan base it will reach. So that right there can tell you it wont be on Steam for a very long time.Įpic is new yes but they already have over 150 million subscribers on their platform with over 55 million active users. If it was timed exclusive it would of already been announced that it was like so many others that were released as timed exclusive for Epic before it. I get you are hopeful but it wont happen in 1 to 3 years. They have complete control over everything they do and it will remain so.

Its not like they are hiring an outside studio either and claiming publishing rights. Its completely its own universe of software and hardware.

The NIN analogy isnt really a good one to make.
